Goodbye Lacan and psychoanalysis? An interview with Richard C. Ledes | 12.01.2024, 11:00 am

What is it about psychoanalysis—and Lacan in particular—that still captivates us today?
Jacques Lacan no doubt remains one of the most polarizing figures in psychoanalysis. His work, often described as a radical reinterpretation of Freud, dives deeply into language, the unconscious, and human desire.

But while some experts and practitioners see his theories as groundbreaking, others argue that psychoanalysis as a whole, including Lacanian thought, is outdated or incomplete in addressing contemporary psychological needs.

Tune in this Sunday 12 January 2025 at 11:00 am to the Infinitely Curious, the English-language program of ERT and Voice of Greece with Katerina Batzaki and listen to a very special guest —acclaimed filmmaker Richard C. Ledes, discussing his latest work, Adieu Lakan. This film masterfully weaves together cinematic storytelling with themes rooted in psychoanalysis and the life and theories of Jacques Lacan, one of the most influential psychoanalysts of the 20th century. Richard’s new film brings these themes to life.

Produced and presented by Katerina Batzaki
Broadcast: Sunday 12 January 2024, 11:00-12:00 am Athens time
