Giokarinis is a Greek rocker with his own very personal style involving rhythmic ballads with witty, playful lyrics. In terms of personal influences, Giokarinis often mentions classical rock bands such as Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, next to the 1950s. “Back then, you had to be really brave to play the blues as well as Rock ‘n’ Roll before it was firmly established”, he notes. “These were difficult times, full of poverty and misery. Somehow the world had to get out of its misery. So, this is how blues and rembetiko were born, from the margins”.
