At the end of the 1970s, four students found themselves studying in Patras (Vangelis Delikouras, Argyris Papageorgiou, Lambros Karelas and Christos Papadopoulos). Together with Panagiotis Manolakos, who was already a professional musician, they formed one of the most successful bouzouki bands in history: Ta Paidia apo tin Patra – The Kids from Patras. With a repertoire that included generous portions of the then sidelined ‘laiko’ song of the 1960s, they quickly acquired their own sound and identity, reflected in their frenzied live performances.
