Tribute to the singer Elpida on “Voices and Music” | 01 Oct. 2024

The show “Voices and Music” with Alexis Kostas, featured a tribute to the well-known singer Elpida.

Elpida entered the music industry in 1970 with the song “Words of Love”. This was followed by “Don’t Get Angry, Don’t”, and in 1972 she participated in the Thessaloniki Festival with the song “I Didn’t See Him”. Soon after, she released her first self-titled album.

In 1979, Elpida represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel with the song “Socrates, You Super Star”, written by Doros Georgiades and Sotia Tsotou, achieving 8th place. “Socrates” was also released in Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavian countries.

Elpida joined the broadcast via phone to discuss her career highlights.
