“Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 25 Oct. 2024

In the show on Friday, October 25, 2024, after an introduction referencing current events and newspaper headlines, we spoke with Ms. Efi Achtsioglou, a member of the New Left, about political developments, particularly concerning what is happening in the center-left. She left the door open for potential collaborations based on specific proposals made public by the New Left and with individuals who could come from all parties of the progressive spectrum. However, she expressed her belief that her former comrades in SYRIZA are emotionally trapped and stated that this party has completed its historical cycle.

Following this, the show shifted to culture, concluding its tribute to the 12th Chania Film Festival with an interview featuring Dimitris Papadimitriou, who was honored by the festival as a composer for his contributions to cinema through his music. In the second part, we listened to an interview with one of the main actors in the student films of the festival, 90-year-old Antonis Plymakis, who explored all the caves of Crete from 1955 to 2000.

Additionally, Alexandra Gravvas, an internationally renowned mezzo-soprano, spoke about her upcoming mini-tour starting in Mexico City, where she will perform at the Palace of Fine Arts to commemorate the 85th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Greece and Mexico.

Finally, jewelry artist Sofia Zarari informed us about the exhibition inaugurated on Thursday, October 24, at Eleni Marneri Gallery, titled Soiree, featuring four significant visual artists engaged in jewelry and craftsmanship: Macedonian artist Gianni

+ s Argiriadis with his miniature chairs, which won the First Excellence Award in Craftsmanship at the European Craft Network Competition in Oslo in 2023; the brilliant craftsman and member of the renowned Homo Faber community, ki/ko; architect Nana Kantsa with her magical wooden box; and famous chocolate artist Mina Apostolidi. These four creators are complemented by food editor Agapi Margetidi, presenting savory treats, and the jewelry artist Sofia Zarari with her fabric female wall sculptures.
