Today, we will be listening to a web of albums and artists that together formulated the new folk sound of the 1980s. Their common foundation is lyricist Manolis Rasoulis, a poet and a philosopher, a true intellectual who altered the course of Greek song. Rasoulis delivered a range of outstanding albums, starting with his collaboration with composer Nikos Xydakis in the 1978 album The revenge of the gypsies and the 1979 Ta Dithen (The Fake Ones). Then, he collaborated with composer Christos Nikolopoulos in three albums: the 1981 The governments fall but love remains, the 1982 Play Christos urgently and the 1984 We are all ours. As for the vocalists present in these albums, the name of Nikos Papazoglou is one to remember.
