On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25), “Historical Walks” on Voice of Greece host a discussion with Maria Stratigaki, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Social Policy at Panteion University and Deputy Mayor for Social Solidarity and Equality at the Municipality of Athens, addressing one of the most critical social issues of our time.
Maria Stratigaki will explore the various forms of violence against women—from physical and psychological abuse to online harassment. She will highlight the roles of society, family, and the state in preventing and combating this phenomenon, as well as the essential interventions needed to support victims.
Through a historical perspective and songs reflecting different eras, the program emphasizes that violence against women is no longer a private matter but a collective issue requiring continuous awareness, education, and action.
