Bridges: uniting people and places, changing geographies, wonders of architecture and engineering, with particular historical or aesthetic significance. Rightfully, bridges found their place in Greek songs, denoting not only tradition and memories of the past, but also routes of the present and visions of the future. And that’s why the songs that we shall be listening to today belong to a variety of genres, from hip hop to art and from folk to traditional music. Rock genius Costas Tournas, for instance, sings that he will become a bridge so that his beloved will be able to cross to the other side, to experience a new land and forget the old one. As for composer Michalis Tranoudakis and poet Giorgos Hronas, they wrote about the girls of the cabaret who smoke slowly under the bridges.
