Today, we are concluding our week-long tribute to panigiri with modern songs that contain references to this specific cultural phenomenon. So, no dance songs, no festive songs; instead, we will be listening to art and folk songs whose main theme draws on the image, the notion and the practices of panigiri. Arleta sings the following in ‘the panigiri has ended’ song: ‘In an empty city, alone in the rain, you are now the world and a flower and my sadness. Empty sky, the sun extinguished at dawn, from our bedroom a shadow rises over the whole earth. The festivity is over, the musicians are gone’.
