The liner notes of the historic Greece Goes Modern album read as follows: “Mimis Plessas is one of our foremost composers, he has repeatedly been awarded with international European and Greek awards for his music songs and film scores. In this album with the help of The Orbiters, a modern group with skilful soloists, he gives us a colourful mixture of the Greek folklore and the modern sounds and rhythms. He has selected ten among the best melodies of our folk dances and he correlated their old tempos with the recent beat. ‘I think’ he states ‘that we have to make our music internationally acceptable to the youngsters, raising their interest in the so many and so unique Greek tempos and melodies of our tradition’”.
