Music analyst Giorgos Charonitis notes the following about the album “The Blues of the Prince” by rock legend Pavlos Sidiropoulos: “It’s not just a recording documentary. It is about much more: a voice heard underground, a sound desperately trying to keep its secret, an allegory of images that can only be decoded with black Polaroid lenses. You need the right angle. And only then do the blues pour out, flooding the brain cells. Only then do these songs become a door that opens, so that it will never be closed again. Folk blues that keep intact the ethos, style and lines of the old rebetiko. We are witnessing a secret hidden well all these years. We must respect it in its entirety”.
