On Saturday, 18 January 2025, “Historical Walks” with Marilena Katsimi on Voice of Greece explores the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) guided by journalist and author Giorgos Chatzivasileiou, taking inspiration from his newly awarded book, The Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence: A Journey into the Future (Dioptra Publications).
Giorgos Chatzivasileiou, a PhD in the philosophy of technology, will provide a simple and accessible analysis of the nature and challenges of AI. He will examine its integration into our daily lives (from Google Search to ChatGPT) and its potential future capabilities.
The show will address the crucial question: Should the development of AI cause concern or offer reassurance?
In the first episode, the discussion will focus on the following themes:
- Health: Revolutionary applications of AI in diagnosis, treatment, and medical research.
- Philosophy: What are the limits of intelligence? Can humans control something more intelligent than themselves?
- Ethics: The creation of a new (super)human. Artificial intelligence and transhumanism.
The episode will feature some of the most iconic soundtracks from science fiction films of all time, such as Metropolis, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, The Matrix, Ex Machina, Her, and 2046, as well as the author’s personal music selections.
