Historian Alexandros Kitroeff was a guest on the show “Greece in the World” with Giorgos Dionysopoulos, where he discussed the Hellenic Historical Archives of the Eastern Mediterranean (ELIAM). The archives will hold their first public presentation on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 6:30 PM, at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens.
Founded by historian Alexandros Kitroeff, historian Angelos Dalachanis, and anthropologist Irini Chrysocheri, ELIAM aims to highlight the multifaceted Greek presence in the broader Eastern Mediterranean region during the 19th and 20th centuries. Their focus moves away from heroic narratives, emphasizing instead the flow of everyday life: commercial relations, educational systems, family documents, and photographs capturing the moments of lives that now belong to history.
