Kostoula Tomadaki: “Mother of the Station” | 08 Mar. 2025, 12:00

On Saturday, March 8, from 12:00 to 13:00, the radio show “Our Town” will be dedicated to “Greek Women of Migration”.

In the 1960s, poverty, unemployment, and migration forced thousands of women to travel to Germany and work in factories. Leaving behind their children and families in post-civil war Greece, they arrived with no knowledge of the language, a suitcase in hand, and a one-way ticket.

All of this is depicted in the award-winning film Mother of the Station by Kostoula Tomadaki.
The director will be featured on the show, discussing these “invisible” women who have moved audiences and film festivals worldwide.

Produced and presented by Themis Rodamitis

Broadcast: Saturday, March 8, 2025, 12:00-13:00 (Greek time)
Repeat: Sunday, March 9, 2025, 04:00-05:00
