On Sunday, 29 June 2025, from 12:00 to 14:00 (Athens time), “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis presents a special tribute to Petros Epitropakis.
A remarkable singer, Epitropakis left his mark on the Greek soul through his voice, which defined the light song (elafró tragoudi) of the interwar period—an era when Greek music was seeking its identity between Western influences and Eastern traditions.
Joining the program are David Nachmias, pianist and scholar of light Greek song, and Markos Kokkas, vocalist. Together, they perform some of Epitropakis’ most beloved songs—melodies that have stood the test of time and established him as one of the greatest performers of the interwar years.
Live from Studio B of Hellenic Radio, the two artists perform for listeners of the Voice of Greece, while Themis Rodamitis enriches the broadcast with poetic and biographical commentary.
