The ANTELOPE, skippered by Patroklos Tottas and crewed by members of the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki, secured 1st place in the IRC2 category, 3rd in ORC2, and also topped the X-YACHTS division in this year’s AEGEAN 600 sailing race.
Captain Patroklos Tottas spoke on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” about this unique experience, the emotions tied to their success, his deep connection to the sea, and his ties to Italy, where he has been living and working in recent years.
“It was a one-of-a-kind race, with its own set of challenges,” he noted. “During the first few days there was barely any wind, so you had to be constantly alert to take advantage of even the slightest weather shift and push ahead.”
He described a special moment in the race: “As we sailed through the caldera of Santorini at sunset, we managed to overtake several boats. It was unforgettable. We were also struck by how far south we sailed in the Aegean — all the way to Kasos and Karpathos.”
