On Tuesday, 26 August, the program “Wander Words” took us up to the slopes of Mount Vitsi, at 1,350 meters, to discover what has been hailed as perhaps the most beautiful mountain village in Greece: Nymfaio.
We learned about its past and present from Maria-Louiza Daskalou, president of the Association of Nymfaio Residents Abroad.
We also heard about the daily concerns of the scientists and volunteers of Arcturos, the wildlife and environmental protection organization, from its Communications Officer, Panos Stefanou.
And before the end, we attempted to uncover some of the secrets of the local cuisine with chef Vangelis Paspalis of the most renowned tavern in Western Macedonia, located in the nearby village of Sklihtro.
