A Tribute to Sofia Vembo and Stella Greka | 15 Feb. 2026, 12:00

On Sunday, 15 February 2026, from 12:00 to 14:00 (Athens time), the Voice of Greece program “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis, presents a tribute to Sofia Vembo and Stella Greka — two female figures who, each in her own way, became the voice of an era and the living memory of a people.

In the studio, pianist and researcher David Nahmias and singer Chryssoula Stefanaki will share their knowledge, love, respect, and remembrance of these two great performers.

Sofia Vembo — the singer identified with the country’s most difficult hours — whose voice became support and courage in times of trial. And alongside her, Stella Greka, an artist of refinement and stage dignity, who carried within her the atmosphere of the interwar years, the elegance of urban culture, and the European aura of a Greece that dreamed, traveled, and shaped its own distinctive style.

Two women, two different emotional temperatures: Vembo with the strength and directness that bring people together around a song as if around a flag; Greka with tender precision, the charm of phrasing, and the art of suggestion.

Throughout the program, many beloved songs will be heard. Tune in!

Production – Presentation: Themis Rodamitis
Broadcast: Sunday, 15 February 2026, at 12:00 (Athens time) – with a repeat at 01:00 in the morning.
