First engineer Antonis Kasimis from Piraeus speaks on ““Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.
“The sea, the ships, and the life of a sailor in general were my whole life. It was a way of living. I adapted and lived by those rhythms. Throughout all those years, from 1967 when I first started until 2014 when I left the ships, I experienced and witnessed so many things — situations, weather conditions, people, ports, and more. Of course, I also saw the evolution of ships and their engines. Of all the ports and cities I travelled to during my maritime career, the one that impressed me the most was Saint Petersburg,” says marine engineer Giannis Kasimis, among other things.
