This Tuesday, 17 March 2026, at 22:00 Athens time, the radio program “Sound Portraits”, hosted by Stavroula Karali, premieres on Voice of Greece.
The new program brings together music, history, culture, and memory. People, events, and moments from Greece’s past and cultural tradition meet melodies and beloved musical pieces, forming a rich musical narrative.
The first episode of “Sound Portraits” is dedicated to the Greek folk song, one of the most authentic and enduring expressions of Greek tradition. The program features contemporary arrangements and new interpretations, along with unexpected musical approaches that even reach into rock aesthetics, highlighting the vitality and timeless appeal of the Greek folk song. Old melodies meet modern sounds, showing that the Greek folk song remains alive and continues to inspire new generations of musicians and listeners.
