And just like that—March turns into summer. Οn this episode, “Musical Suburbs” welcomes journalist and radio producer Antonis Tzavaras, who reads excerpts from “Summer”, his short story collection published by Syrtari Editions.
Six stories unfolding under the sun of the Greek summer. Their characters board ships to the islands, swim in the Aegean, walk among tourists—yet remain trapped in the stagnation each of them has sunk into. Estranged from themselves, melted by the heat and blinded by the sun, they search frantically for help within, around them, or far away—in imagined places and among fictional heroes.
Antonis Tzavaras was born and lives in Athens. He studied at the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has worked in magazines, websites, and radio. “Summer” is his first book.
