A mountain village with only a handful of permanent residents, nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnon. Shaped by history, affected by emigration, and nearly abandoned, Vamvakou is now writing a new chapter as life returns to the village once again.
This is the spirit of the Vamvakou Experience Festival, which transforms the village into a living experience, inviting visitors to wander its narrow streets, savor its local flavors, enjoy its music, meet its people, and make the village their own.
On Saturday, 4 July, at 10:00 a.m. (Athens time), Voice of Greece’s “Ariadni’s Thread” welcomes Haris Vasilakos from the Vamvakou Revival team to talk about Vamvakou Experience Festival 2026, taking place on 4 and 5 July in Vamvakou, Laconia.
He discusses this year’s festival program, how a small mountain village can become a meeting place for people, ideas, and dreams, and how determination and a shared vision can turn ambitious goals into reality.
