The symphony of Epigenetics | 19 July 2026, 11:00

Can our experiences change the way our genes work?

This Sunday, 19 July, at 11:00 a.m. (Athens time), the english language program “Infinitely Curious” on Voice of Greece invites listeners on a fascinating journey into the world of epigeneticsthe science exploring how our environment, experiences and daily habits can influence the way our genes are expressed.

Joining us through a series of remarkable talks:

Professor Moshe Szyf, one of the pioneers of epigenetics, explores how the environment—even before birth—can shape gene activity, and how early-life experiences may leave lasting biological marks.

Geneticist Courtney Griffin takes us inside the cell to reveal how enzymes remodel our DNA, making genes more or less accessible and helping determine how our bodies develop and function.

Dr. Karissa Sanbonmatsu, molecular biologist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, examines the fascinating links between epigenetics, stress, social interactions, love, gender identity and RNA, revealing how our experiences may influence our biology throughout life.

Join Katerina Batzaki for an hour of science, curiosity and discovery as we ask one of humanity’s oldest questions in a completely new way: Are we simply the product of our DNA, or is there more to the story?

Produced and presented by Katerina Batzaki

Broadcast: Sunday 19 July 2026, 11:00 Athens time
