“Through Project Connect’s ‘Adopt a Ship’ program, we are planting the seeds of an interest in shipping among schoolchildren, encouraging them to pursue careers at sea and in the maritime industry. We connect ships and captains with schools and students, introducing them to the sea and helping them learn as much as possible about shipping,” says Irene Notias, founder and director of Project Connect in Greece, speaking on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” at Posidonia 2026.
“More and more teachers are asking to join our program, and we are delighted. As for our seafarers, we send them our love and keep them in our thoughts. They all deserve our heartfelt praise. They are heroes who keep Greek shipping flying high,” she concludes.
