From the slopes of the Pindus Mountains, where remote passes and mountain villages offered refuge during the Occupation, to the people who still tend their land, raise their children and fight for the conditions that will allow them to remain in their communities.
To mark 28 October, Greece’s Ohi Day, we travel to Argithea in the Karditsa region, high in the Pindus Mountains, where Mayor Andreas Stergiou talks about today’s heroes.
