Michalis Terzis visits “Our Town” 09.06.2024, 12:00

On Sunday, June 9, from 12:00 to 14:00 Athens time, the show “Our Town” will host Michalis Terzis, a unique composer with a steady course in the field of Greek music, in an episode dedicated to music and poetry.
The distinguished musician will refer to the important stations of his journey, including his album, “A historical discourse in the words of by General Makriygiannis” («Στρατηγού Μακρυγιάννη λόγος ιστορικός»), where he has set to music texts by Makrigiannis, Solomos, Palamas, Sikelianos, Seferis, performed by Kostas Makedonas and narrated by Leonidas Kakouris.

He will also refer to his albums “Hymns and Lamentations for Cyprus” from the documentary by Michalis Kakogiannis, in poetry by Ritsos-Palamas, and “Put all the music in love“, in poetry by Palamas.
The guest will talk about setting to music ancient lyric poets, for his acclaimed album “The Night“.

The show will feature music from Michalis Terzis’ latest work “Rebetiko Elegies“, a work for classical piano, “Doxa ton Anemon“, a work in poetry by Eleftheriou, Katsoulis and others, performed by George Dalaras, and “Maniatika” which concerns laments for Mani based on poetry by Kyriakos Kasis which Jacques Lacarriere, presented in theaters in France.
