The Metropolitan of Zambia and Mozambique, Mr. Ioannis, Giorgos Tzelilis, Olympic champion in weightlifting and Athanasia Tsoumeleka, Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics, were hosted today by the show “Greece in the world” with Giorgos Dionysopoulos, on the occasion of the twelve-day events for the Olympic Games held in Zambia.
On Wednesday, June 13th, 2024, the Diocese of Zambia and Mozambique, the Honorary Greek Consulate General in Lusaka, Zambia and the Greek Community of Lusaka, in cooperation with the Zambian Olympic Committee and the National Parliament of the country, in a glorious ceremony, in the presence of the two Greek Olympic champions, Mrs Athanasia Tsoumeleka and Mr. Giorgos Tzelilis, members of the Parliament, representatives of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Federations, Associations and sports bodies, honoured our country that gave birth to the Olympic Games and the Olympic values.
