Historical Walks: AI – A Philosophical Journey into the Future (Part II) | 25 Jan. 2025, 13:00

Historical Walks took us on a journey into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), guided by journalist and author Giorgos Chatzivasileiou, inspired by his award-winning book, The Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence: A Journey into the Future (Dioptra Publications).

Giorgos Chatzivasileiou, a Ph.D. in the philosophy of technology, discussed the novel universe being shaped by emerging technology. As he explained, humanity—its habits, physical and digital environments, and even corporeality—may appear primitive just a few generations from now. Whether this is for better or worse remains to be seen. Nevertheless, we are undoubtedly living through some of the most fascinating and pivotal moments in human history.

The program sought to address the crucial question: Should the development of AI cause us concern or provide us with reassurance?

In this second episode, we examine how Artificial Intelligence has already impacted geopolitics, democracy, work, education, and personal relationships. At the same time, we explore what the future might hold as technology continues to evolve and shape every aspect of our lives.
