Hosted by Elena Falirea, the broadcast will focus on Thanopoulos’ book “Markos the Syrian – Markos Vamvakaris: Collected Works”, marking the birth anniversary of the legendary figure known as the “Patriarch” of Greek urban folk music. (Markos Vamvakaris, born in Danakos, Syros on May 10, 1905 – passed away in Nikaia, Attica on February 8, 1972.)
