Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 30 May 2025

The Friday, May 30th edition of the show opened with the pressing issue surrounding Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai, following a court decision challenging its long-standing ownership status. We spoke with Mr. Christos Kombiliris, the Monastery’s legal advisor, and its spokesperson, Archimandrite Porphyrios Fragkos, to better understand the implications.

We then traveled—at least in spirit—to Los Angeles, where the 19th Los Angeles Greek Film Festival is currently underway. Founder and filmmaker Ersi Danou joined us to talk about this year’s program, its special tributes, and her own journey as both a Greek living abroad and a creator navigating two cultures.

In the second part of the show, we connected with Ms. Rita Moraitaki-Pikrou, President and CEO of the National Evaluation Center of Quality and Technology in Health (EKAPTY), to discuss the event “Hands that Care, Hearts that Give Thanks,” taking place tonight at the Divani Caravel Hotel in celebration of International Nurses Day. As part of the event, a children’s art competition titled “Colors of Love for the Hands that Care” will also be held.

Later, we welcomed Leonidas Antonopoulos, director of Kosmos 93.6, to the studio. He invited jazz lovers — and music fans of all kinds — to the station’s Jazz Party, held as part of Athens Jazz 2025. The event, with free admission, is happening tonight at Gazarte and promises an unforgettable evening: DJ sets by Kosmos producers, live performances by Iliana Tsapatsari with the Datfunk Band, and Gadjo Dilo. Tsapatsari will also appear in a special collaboration with the Datfunk organ trio, featuring renowned saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos.

We wrapped up with a call to the Amorgos Bookstore in Katapola, as part of Independent Bookstore Week. Speaking with owner Moschoula Paraskevopoulou, we explored the deep connection between this bookstore — nestled in the heart of the Aegean — and the local schools and children it serves.

And just before the sports news, ERT journalist Elina Kolyva reported live from outside a school as students were finishing their first subject in the nationwide university entrance exams for General High Schools.
