In the program on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, we connected with Corfu and spoke with Giannis Andriotis, ERTnews correspondent in Corfu, about the anniversary of the miraculous rescue of Corfu by Saint Spyridon. The occasion is celebrated every year on August 11 with a procession of the Saint’s icon, accompanied by the city’s philharmonic bands. Immediately after the online and newspaper headlines, we were updated on news from around the world and the Balkans by Ivana Djordjevic.
In the second hour, we discussed the environmental impact of wildfires and the measures that should be taken in the city of Athens with Nikos Bokaris, forester and environmentalist, and member of the Board of Directors of the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece.
We then met the Alexandri sisters, the triplet champions in artistic swimming, who recently returned to Greece and now compete under the colors of their homeland after coming from Austria. They have already brought us major distinctions, including two gold medals at the European Championships in Paris. On the programme, we spoke with Anna-Maria Alexandri, Eirini-Marina Alexandri, and Vasiliki Alexandri.
Shortly before the end of the programme, we spoke with Thodoris Tsimpidis, Director of the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation, about a very important issue that the Institute has brought to public attention and is pressing to resolve: the confinement, for eight whole years, of two sea lions in a small concrete tank at the Attica Zoological Park.
The program concluded with the sports news from Michalis Ladopoulos.
