On Thursday morning, 03 July 2025, at 09:00 (Athens time), Nikolas Angelidis takes us on a special journey to Rosario, the third-largest city in Argentina.
There, we meet the legendary figure of Argentine tango, Juan Manuel Hernandez Martin, now 87 years old.
His hands remain steady — and his soul, even more so. His heart, he says, belongs to Greece. A deep love born from the Greek immigrants who made Argentina their home.
Through Larissa, we “arrive” in Argentina, as seasoned musician Thomas Asteriou, a longtime friend of the tango maestro, opens a live connection across the continents.
It’s winter in Rosario. The air is crisp… yet the bouzouki sings in the maestro’s hands. He plays exclusively for “Time in Greece”, performing beloved rebetika and laika songs — with his remarkable voice and a distinctive Argentine accent that only adds to their magic.
A heartfelt reminder of how deeply Greece is loved far beyond its borders.
