On Tuesday, 8 July, at 20:00 Athens time, the program “Human Landscapes” with Viktoria Kavouriari welcomes Christos Ioannidis, Physics teacher at the Music High School of Pallini and founder of Schoolwave Festival — the nationwide music festival for high school and university student bands, held every year in Athens since 2005.
Just days before this year’s Schoolwave Festival kicks off at Technopolis City of Athens, on 11–13 July — marking 20 years since its first edition — Christos Ioannidis takes us on a journey through classrooms, courtyards, and student bands. He shares thoughts on today’s school environment, its challenges and problems, and the dreams of the students.
A secondary education teacher for 35 years, with a deep love for science, music, and teaching — and above all, a love for young people — our guest talks about what it means to be a teacher today, what it means to be a student, how to respond to school bullying, and, of course, how to create a successful music festival by, for, and with students.
