Anastasia Gkitsi is “Poet of the Week” | 08 – 14 Sept. 2025

Each week is dedicated to a contemporary Greek poet, with poets of the Diaspora also included.

Seven poems every week, one Greek poem each day, travel through the frequencies of Voice of Greece, reaching every corner of the world where Greek voices are heard.

The week from September 8 to September 14, 2025, is dedicated to poet Anastasia Gkitsi.

Anastasia Gkitsi was born in Thessaloniki. She is a Secondary Education teacher with postgraduate studies in Greece and abroad (Chambésy/Switzerland).

She created the artistic triptych Sygorma, where poetry, visual arts, music, and new technologies interweave and harmonize. Her articles, studies, translations, and poems have been published in collective volumes, newspapers, magazines, and anthologies.

Since 2024, she has curated Poetry Black Box at the Thessaloniki Book Fair. Her monologues have been adapted for the stage by the group Contact Ensemble, while her poems have been performed by Trickortreat, Persona non grata, Griechischer Kunstclub Nürnberg e.V., and Global Art Nürnberg e.V.

She participates in experimental projects and International Poetry Festivals (Greece-UK-Germany) with video poems and coordinates interactive and music-poetic performance readings.
