Zeti Fitsiou takes her “Mixer” to Frankfurt… | 22 Sept. 2025

After two successful seasons in Athens and across Greece, the pocket-size folk musical “Mixer” now travels to Frankfurt, where it will be staged for the local Greek community on Friday, 26 September.

Award-winning writer Zeti Fitsiou spoke on the program “Faraway Words” about her play and her connection with Greeks living in Germany. “Mixer” is a wild, almost surreal celebration on stage, written in a comically inventive fifteen-syllable verse, carrying Fitsiou’s sharp humor, the subversive music of Thodoris Oikonomou, and the clever direction of Kostas Sylvestros. Playing the dazzling actress who embodies 35 different roles is the multi-talented Indra Kein, whose diamond-like voice and versatile performance meet on stage with the dynamic, ingenious, and tireless Alexandros Siatras. As Fitsiou noted, it is a performance that becomes both catharsis and redemption against the wounds inflicted by today’s sweeping, chaotic world.

Speaking of Greeks in Germany, she remarked: “They live with the dream of returning home – and it is moving, because even second- and third-generation Greeks who have never lived in Greece still carry within them the dream of ‘return.’”
