“Faraway Words” welcomed author Marilli Diamanti for a conversation about her historical narrative “Argonaut, in the Depths of the Earth.”
Drawing on extensive research into archives, immigrant lists, and forgotten documents, the book traces the life of her great-grandfather Panagis, who came from Stromi in Phocis, worked in the quarries of Lavrio, and later emigrated to America.
Through his story, the book tells the broader story of an entire generation that emigrated to America in the early 20th century.
