Seven poems every week — one Greek poem each day — travel through the frequencies of Voice of Greece to the far corners of the world, wherever Greek voices can be heard. The week of 17–23 November 2025 is dedicated to the poet Lilly Kotsoni.
Lilly Kotsoni was born and raised in Athens, where she continues to live with her family. She studied Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business and later continued her studies in Germany. At the same time, she studied creative writing and literature under notable writers.
She works in the business sector while continuing to study poetry and prose. She began writing poetry at a very young age and has published three poetry collections: The Heron’s Song (Iolkos, 2019), 360 Degrees Outside (Iolkos, 2022), Supplicants of Simple Things (Iolkos, 2025). She has contributed to the collective volume Epi Lexei published by Filntisi, as well as for several years to the annual poetry anthology Poetic Calendar by Iolkos Publications. Her poems and book reviews have appeared in literary magazines and commemorative editions, while reviews of her work have been published in newspaper literary columns and online.
She has participated in international poetry festivals, and her work has been translated into English and Italian. Her poetry explores themes such as human relationships, social inequality, loneliness, loss, love, the passage of time, and the power of silence.
