How does the daughter of a famous and talented father grow up? How does her adult life unfold when he has already passed away? And what becomes of all the things that were never spoken? How can a father’s unspeakable experiences in the Mauthausen concentration camp be transformed into art?
Director Elissavet Hasse, who for the past twenty years has focused in her work on collective memory and trauma-processing, returns to the Greek theatre stage with the monologue “My Father, Iakovos.”
The piece is based on the narratives of Katerina Kampanelli, daughter of the great playwright Iakovos Kampanellis.
Director Elissavet Hasse and actress Alexandra Skendrou were guests on the program “Time in Greece” with Nikolas Angelidis, where they spoke about this outstanding theatrical production, which opens to the public tomorrow, Thursday 13 November.
