Tasos Germenis is the “Poet of the Week” | 12–18 Jan. 2026

Seven poems each week — one Greek poem every day — travel through the airwaves of Voice of Greece to the farthest corners of the world, wherever Greek voices are heard. The week 12–18 January 2026 is dedicated to the poet Tasos Germenis.


Tasos Germenis is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Thessaly, a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Athens, and a Member of the Governing Council of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He was born and raised in Kefalonia, studied Medicine, and specialised in Internal Medicine and Immunology. Alongside his scientific and academic career, he has long been engaged with the philosophy of science and poetry, having published both scholarly works and poetry collections.
