Narratives: Tribute to World Greek Language Day | 07 Feb. 2026, 1:00

The program “Narratives – Stories and Fairy Tales for All Ages” presents a special tribute on Saturday, 07 February 2026, from 17:00 to 18:00, on Voice of Greece, marking 9 February, World Greek Language Day, as well as the day of remembrance of the Greek poet Dionysios Solomos (1798–1857).

This special feature is addressed to listeners of all ages and celebrates the richness of the ancient Greek language, along with the enduring legacy of ancient Greek literature, the arts, and the sciences—whose influence has inspired and shaped cultures across the centuries and continues to resonate worldwide today.

The tribute also features distinctive musical works by a truly global Greek composer, Vangelis Papathanassiou, internationally acclaimed as a pioneer of contemporary music and Academy Award–winning for his score to Chariots of Fire (1982).

Produced and presented by Maria Karagiannaki Iona
Broadcast: Saturday, 07 February 2026, 17:00–18:00 (Athens time)
