On Friday, 24 April 2026, at 22:00 (Athens time), the Voice of Greece program “Greek Jazz Players” with Pantazis Tsaras welcomes Stelios Giannakopoulos, the legendary sound engineer of the Greek recording industry.
Broadcast live from Studio B of Hellenic Radio, Stelios Giannakopoulos shares moments from his long and remarkable career—from the studios of Zappeion and Columbia Records to Hellenic Radio, from the era of Manos Hadjidakis onwards—as well as stories from a life deeply intertwined with sound, both inside and outside the studio.
Also joining the program are two of the most experienced and respected sound engineers, Akis Golfidis and Christos Zormpas, who reflect on the personality and legacy of Stelios Giannakopoulos.
The musical part of the program features pianist Giorgos Tsolis, double bassists Lambros Psomas and Giorgos Pantazopoulos, saxophonist Stefanos Polyzos, guitarist Dimitris Bakopoulos, and drummers Hector Remsak and Konstantinos Nikogiannis, performing a selection of jazz standards from the rich repertoire of the genre.
