Seven poems each week, one Greek poem every day, travel across the airwaves of Voice of Greece to every corner of the world where Greek voices are heard.
The week from 27 April to 03 May 2026 is dedicated to Veroniki Dalakoura.
Veroniki Dalakoura is a writer, translator, and researcher. She has published studies on the settlement in Greece of refugees from Asia Minor, Pontus, and Eastern Thrace, and has participated in conferences on population movements, focusing on their cultural evolution. Her articles and studies on both contemporary and earlier Greek and international writers and poets, as well as book reviews, have appeared in newspapers and literary journals (Historika, I Lexi, Planodion, Poiesi, Poiitiki, To Dendro, Entefktirio, as well as the newspapers To Vima, Avgi, Kathimerini, among others). She has published ten poetry collections and two prose works, and has translated classical French authors and poets. Her poetry has been translated into French, Bulgarian, Romanian, Czech, Spanish, and primarily into English by John Taylor, including in Into the Heart of European Poetry (2008), which features an introduction and presentation of her work alongside other European poets, and Bird Shadows, Selected Poems and Poetic Prose 1967–2020 (bilingual edition, DIA’LOGOS PRESS, 2024).
