On Monday, 13 July, from 22:00 to 23:00 (Athens time), Voice of Greece’s program “Our Town” welcomes acclaimed bassist and composer Yiotis Kiourtsoglou.
Kiourtsoglou reflects on his collaborations with leading figures of the international jazz scene, as well as distinguished Greek soloists and vocalists. He also discusses Human Touch, the groundbreaking trio he formed with David Lynch and Stavros Lantsias, whose innovative musical approach has left a lasting mark on the Greek music scene.
The conversation also explores the major jazz festivals where he has performed, the evolution of the Greek jazz scene, and both the pioneering and younger generations of Greek jazz musicians. He recalls memorable moments from his beloved hometown of Thessaloniki and speaks about his enduring friendship and artistic connection with Dionysis Savvopoulos.
