On Sunday, 26 July 2026, at 12:00 Athens time, Voice of Greece program “Our Town,” hosted by Themis Rodamitis, welcomes composer and accordion virtuoso Zoe Tiganouria and singer Vivi Voutsela to discuss their collaboration on the musical project “Today’s Traditional Music.”
The two artists perform songs from the project live in the studio and discuss their creative approach to Greek tradition as a living, evolving musical language. They also present the new song “Ilios, chrysos kai alati,” with lyrics by Maria Papadaki and music by Zoe Tiganouria, which offers a first taste of Vivi Voutsela’s upcoming solo album.
The conversation also focuses on contemporary music, the relationship between tradition and the present, and the two artists’ personal journeys. Vivi Voutsela discusses her involvement in traditional dance, folklore research, and Greek musical traditions, while Zoe Tiganouria talks about her career as a composer, the accordion, and her major international collaborations.
