On Wednesday, August 5, at 22:00 Athens time, “Remarkable Personalities” on Voice of Greece, hosted by Stavroula Karali, takes listeners on a journey through galaxies, time, and the great mysteries of the universe with astrophysicist Antonis Antoniou.
A professor in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of the Peloponnese and author of General Relativity and Cosmology: From the Geometry of Space-Time to the Structure of the Universe (Ziti Publications), Professor Antoniou explores some of the fundamental questions of modern astrophysics and cosmology in a discussion that is both accessible and scientifically rigorous.
How vast is the universe? What is time? What do we know about dark matter and dark energy? Do planets and other celestial bodies produce sound? Does the Pythagorean concept of the “music of the spheres” hold any scientific significance? And are we alone in the universe?
