Thrasos Kaminakis on Paris, theater and creative writing | 14 Sept. 2026, 22:00

On Monday 14 September 2026, from 22:00 to 23:00, Voice of Greece’s “Our Town”, presented by Themis Rodamitis, welcomes Thrasos Kaminakis.

The multitalented writer will discuss his studies in Paris and the formative influence the city had on him. He will also speak about the invaluable contribution of his film mentors, Marc Ferro and Eric Rohmer, to his understanding of screenwriting and directing.

Kaminakis will look back on his years as an editor for Greek magazines and a correspondent at international film festivals. He will focus in particular on his works adapted for the stage, including “12 Months with 13 Moons,” “Moonweek” and “The Moon in the Pluperfect,” as well as his collections of one-act plays, musicals and theatrical fairy tales.

He will also discuss the songs he wrote for theatrical productions, set to music by Dimitra Galani, Mode Plagal and others.

Kaminakis, whose contribution to the arts has been extensive, founded Pocket Theatre and organized the festival of the same name. He also created Mikro Polytechneio, where he teaches songwriting, creative writing and playwriting. He will also talk about “his own Syros,” the island where he spends his summers.

Tune in!
