The Tuesday, 15 September 2026 edition of “Common Ground” on Voice of Greece took listeners on a tour of Petries and its seaport, Agioi Apostoloi. The village is located in eastern Evia, overlooking the Aegean Sea, a few kilometers beyond Aliveri.
Joining us in the studio was Charoula Peponaki, president of the “O Platanos” Cultural and Beautification Association.
Also helping us discover the village by phone were Maria Tsakou, president of the local community; Chrysostomos Krompas, a retired teacher who spoke mainly about the history of the area and the ravine with its old watermills, which offers visitors an interesting route along a well-maintained trail; and Martha Ganoti, president of the “To Aigaio” Cultural and Beautification Association, which is active in the seaside settlement.
