In a beautiful village in the mountains of Laconia, in the heart of Mount Parnon, the Voice of Greece program “Common Ground” paid a visit to Vamvakou.
A village shaped by waves of emigration in past decades and the birthplace of prominent benefactors, Vamvakou is today experiencing a remarkable revival, driven by the determination of young people and supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
Speaking on the program were Stamatina Galata, President of the Association of Vamvakou Natives Worldwide; Eleni Mami, founding member of the Vamvakou Revival team; and Themis Chatzisotiriou, a graduate of International Studies with a specialization in Art and Culture, who is currently completing an internship with the group.
