“The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson” – Part 5 | 08 Feb. 2025, 17:00

Back in 1983, the historic ERT magazine Radiotileorasi, issue no. 713, announced in its weekly TV schedule the launch of a new children’s animated series. This series captured the imagination of children everywhere and became a great success in Greece right from its premiere on Thursday, October 20, 1983, at 18:05, on ERT. This remarkable children’s TV series, translated into 30 languages, is none other than “The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson“, written in 1907 by Swedish educator and author Selma Lagerlöf.

The program “Narratives – Stories and Fairy Tales for All Ages” presents the complete radio adaptation of “The Wonderful Adventures of Nils Holgersson” on Voice of Greece. This version is based on the publication by Vlassi Brothers Editions, accompanied by the enchanting music of Czech composer Karel Svoboda. The broadcast offers a condensed version of Selma Lagerlöf’s original book, featuring texts adapted by children’s author Kira Sinou, specifically for the edition by Adelfoi Vlassi.

On Saturday, February 8st, don’t miss the fifth -and final- part of the narration, where we’ll hear the chapters: “The End of the Journey,” “In Lapland,” “Back to the South,” and “Farewell to the Wild Geese.”

Produced and presented by Maria Karagiannaki Iona
