Alex Sid “Takes His Time” on Voice of Greece | 21 Feb. 2025, 11:00

Alex Sid (Alexandros Sidiropoulos) will be a guest on Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos on Voice of Greece on Friday, February 21, 2025, shortly after 11:00 AM Greek time.

The composer behind the hit music of ERT’s popular series The Βeach (Η Παραλία), who first gained widespread recognition for his work on the acclaimed television show Agries Melisses, talks to Voice of Greece about his life, his decision to transition from sound design to music composition with great success, and his years in London, where he worked at Boom Ltd on major television and film productions for the BBC, Channel 4, and HBO—including being nominated as part of the best sound team for Atonement and Generation Kill.

He will discuss his important collaboration with Dimitris Nasios (Quasamodo) on the music and songs for The Beach, as well as the unforgettable artistic moment of sharing the stage with the legendary Eric Burdon, frontman of The Animals.

Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Alexandros Sidiropoulos has been playing guitar since the age of 13. He studied sound production and sound design in London, and after a highly successful career in the UK, he returned to Greece to compose film music, including the soundtrack for Echoes of the Past (2021), starring Max von Sydow.

In 2019, he began composing and orchestrating musical themes and songs for Agries Melisses, both for himself and other performers. This marked his first foray into Greek lyrics, launching his successful collaboration with Ourania Pateli. Over the past two years, his music has been featured in the hit TV series The Beach and I Magissa.
